Catching Our Breath, Family Grinds, and Biting the Bullet

Catching Our Breath, Family Grinds, and Biting the Bullet

Wow. We are already closing in on the middle of summer, and it feels like the days are just flying by faster and faster. Lately, I've found myself having to intentionally stop, take a deep breath, and truly appreciate everything around me.

I’ve been through the absolute grind before. In my past chapters with real estate, I just put my head down and worked. I never took the time to appreciate where I was or where I was going, and honestly, it eventually turned me sour on that whole chapter of my life.

But this season is entirely different.

Getting back into real estate full-time while simultaneously building the Roastery is a heavy lift, but we are doing it together. As a family, we are 100% choosing this path, and doing it side-by-side feels incredibly powerful and meaningful. So far this year, we have:

Gone on family vacations

Ranched and tended to the animals together

Gone on work appointments as a team

Bagged freshly roasted coffee together

Hit the golf course together

That right there is what life is actually about. There is always going to be a massive to-do list. There will always be more work to get done. You might as well enjoy the ride and do it with the people you love most. Seeing our kids grow up happens so darn fast—that is the real gift in this life, and I refuse to miss it.

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

"I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God."

The Roastery: Ready to Bite the Bullet

On the coffee side of things, we have been dialing it in. We are creating blends right now that are genuinely some of the best-tasting coffees we’ve ever had, and our traction with friends and family is picking up fast.

Because of that, at some point very soon, I’m going to have to bite the bullet and officially open the doors to the public.

I’ll be honest—that is a scary moment. When you are just roasting for friends and family, you control the narrative. You move at a speed that feels comfortable to you. The moment you open to the public, the public suddenly becomes the foot that presses on the gas pedal (or the brake, for that matter). But I am praying that God continues to lead us, that this business glorifies Him, and that we continue to build Larson’s legacy more and more with every single batch we roast.

Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

The Larson's Land Mission

At the end of the day, Larson’s Land is about more than just selling coffee or real estate. It’s about helping people find their way to becoming a better person, a better spouse, and a better parent.

If we’ve learned anything on this journey, it’s that you cannot do this life alone. You need a community, and you might as well build that community with a great-tasting cup of coffee in your hand while we all try to figure it out together.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."

Help Us Grow: Be on the lookout for our new Larson’s Land blends! We are currently fully equipped to roast and fill coffee demands the exact same day. If you know of a local restaurant, cafe, or business that would be a great fit for our coffee, please reach out and help us make that connection.
