Healing Over Coffee: When the Conversation Changes Relationships

This week, I found myself pausing on the farm, praying, and simply being thankful for the relationships and precious family moments God has given us. We had several friends come up to the farm this past week, not just to visit, but to have real conversations about Larson—all over a cup of coffee.

To be honest, that is different from years past.

For a long time, it was hard to talk about Larson without that physical pain in my chest—that feeling where it felt like my heart was being ripped out again and again. Silence often felt safer than speaking.

But as we enter this new chapter, I’m realizing something: talking about Larson doesn’t have to hurt. In fact, sitting with friends and sharing stories about him has become a precious moment. It is building stronger friendships. It is healing us. And my hope is that by opening up, it opens the door for our friends to heal from the losses they have experienced in their own lives, too.

This is the heartbeat of Larson's Land.

Yes, we want to roast incredible coffee. But our goal is bigger than the beans. We want to help people who are walking through the fire. Lord knows we have been through hard things that you would never wish upon anyone. But through Christ, our family has been able to come together, not fall apart. That is the testimony we want to share.

My challenge for you this week:

As you go about your days, try to pause and be thankful for what you have right in front of you. See others for where they are currently, not where you want them to be. And be careful of setting expectations for others that are simply unattainable. Grace goes a long way.
