At Larson’s Land, we know what it means to steward the land, work hard, and raise a family on a farm. That’s why we feel such a deep connection to the coffee farmers of the Guji zone in southern Ethiopia.
In this lush region of Oromia, coffee isn't just a business; it’s a way of life. These beans are grown by small-holder families on tiny one-to-two hectare plots, planted right alongside the food crops they use to feed their own households. Relying on traditional methods passed down through generations, they cultivate the land entirely free from artificial chemicals.
The Guji microclimate is a coffee grower's dream: high elevations, rich volcanic soil, and distinct wet and dry seasons. The cool, misty mornings and sunny afternoons allow the coffee cherries to mature slowly. This patient, natural growth is the secret to unlocking the intense sweetness and wild, expressive flavors that make Ethiopian coffee legendary. When you brew this cup, you are supporting small farming families who pour their hearts into the land, just like we do here in Holt.
